Alchemy provide a full range of Pipeline Gels for use in decomissioning, hydrocarbon removal, flushing and debris lift operations and also for preventing sea water ingress.
Using Gels for flushing and cleaning operations results in much greater efficiency than simply flushing with water alone. This provides a better clean of the pipeline with less pumped volume, and less time on location, reducing vessel time and costs for the operation.
Our APG Gel series are water based Pipeline Gels which can be used in a variety of scenarios. The Gels can be used in their base form, or crosslinked to provide a defined interface between the Gel pill and pushing medium for use in batch operations or as part of a Gel ‘train’.
Crosslinked Gels are ideal for lifting debris, and our Gels can lift up to 50% of their own weight under ideal conditions.
For gas lines or in pipelines where hydrate formation may be a concern, Alchemy provide a range of Glycol based Pipeline Gels which can be used for flushing, dewatering and debris removal. They are also very effective in preventing seawater ingress in pipelines and spools during commissioning activities.
Alchemy also provide a range of solid Gel pigs which can be used within gas lines and other scenarios where a mechanical pig could not be used due to lack of launching or receiving facilities.
Solid Gel pigs are provided in transit cannisters for deployment and are sized matched to the ID of the pipeline. They can be expressed through small ports where recovery facilities are not available.
Gel Pigs are ideal for use when dewatering and pushing with nitrogen or other gasses, and can also be used within pipelines and spools to prevent water ingress.
As they contain high levels of monoethylene glycol, the Pigs present no risk of hydrate formation.
